Some Recent Projects:
Meta-analysis of First 5 Programs in California: This meta-analysis was completed in 2010 and examined best practices, innovative approaches, and common challenges faced by First 5 California Power of Preschool (PoP) programs in nine counties across California. Click here for the full report.
Effect of Chess on Learning: This project examined existing research studies on the effects of playing chess. The focus was on elementary school students, particularly in lower-income neighborhoods. The final report evaluated the cognitive and social benefits of chess and outlined a curriculum plan for integrating chess within the curriculum.
Improving Health Care Delivery: This project involved reviewing and analyzing the psychosocial impact and economic burden of chronic disease and medical noncompliance in aging populations. We obtained a NIH grant to manage a pilot behavioral medicine study at a large HMO. A final review of the project and evaluation of the results was presented in a research report on interactive health-care applications.
Assisting with WASC Accreditation Process: In order to obtain accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, schools undergo an exhaustive review process. We helped our client through the process by preparing a lengthy report summarizing current educational research, highlighting some of the innovative teaching practices at the school, providing achievement and demographic data on the students, and presenting a solid and well-supported analysis of the overall performance of the school.
Market Research on Online Gaming: Conducted demographic and psychographic research on the video game industry and Internet user trends, with a particular focus on the 24-35 age group.
